I want Dead Space for the holidays and I’ve heard Dead Space is a very good game. I’ve also heard that it’s not gory for a game that a person is supposed to tear off limbs in. The language isn’t a problem it’s just the amount of blood and gore. I also have a little brother that’s 9 years old and we’re both aloud to play Halo 3. Is it Halo 3 gory or is it Gears of War gory?

I wouldn’t do it if I were you but it depends on the type of person you are. Dismembering monsters is a MUST in this game and you will have to do it all the time. Also, the cut scenes are extremely gory if they catch you like for example, you get your head bitten off and then your body is ripped in half with blood gushing everywhere. That’s only half of it too. The psychological part of the game is so intense that even the legit 17 year olds playing the game scare the crap out of themselves. This is something that Gears of War or Halo 3 do not have. Both of those games are meant for action and thrills but Dead Space is meant to put you in the corner and cry. It’s even banned in China, Japan, and Germany for it’s content. So if you can handle all that, go for it… though I highly doubt most 13 year olds have the maturity for it. =/

Dead space is no where near appropriate for a 13 yr old as it has very mature themes.

Halo 3 and Gears of war are allot more fantasy with PG themes.

Dead Space has a lot of gore if you get killed. So my advice is DON’T DIE!

Gears of War also has a lot of gore but video game gore is a lot different than real gore in movies.

If I saw someone get their limbs cut off or their slit throat in a real movie with real people I would be disgusted and it would be too much for me but if I see it in video games its different and I think it’s the same thing for other people. So I would say yes, Dead Space is appropriate for a 13 year old as long as you can take blood.

By the way, I am 13 also and have played Halo 3, Gears of War, and Dead Space.

Both Dead Space and Gears of War are gore-fests. I’d go ahead with Halo, since the most gore in that is ragdoll physics and blue and green blood.

No, it’s not appropriate for a 13 year old, it’s a very gory game, this is a type of gory that makes you want to go sit in your shower and cry, lol. you have to be 17 to get it, and even 18 in some places. The ways that the character (Issac) dies in the game are very graphic anywhere from being ripped apart and mauled by a brute, or getting a little too close to a guardian resulting in a decapitation, not only that, it will most likely leave any 13 year old with nightmares, I was once 13 and I remember when a lot of things scared me. I would stay away from the Mature games and stick around the T and E rated games, wait at least till your like 16 or even 15 if your mature enough to play M rated games. I’m sure if your parents saw what dead space was really like they would definitely say no. There’s tons of good games out there and even M rated games that aren’t that bad, like Halo. Keep looking around till you find something you want that won’t leave you in horror.

I’m 13, I played, but I’m a violent person whose been playing violent games for a long time. When I played Dead Space the gore did not gross me out. But the random screaming made me jump a lot. If you play gears of war it should not be a problem.
The ESRB wouldn’t be happy though.

its more like gears of war gory but most likely worse. Dead Space is more realistic and is a horror game so everything is intensified. I dont know but my brother is 13 and my mom lets him play it.

Dead Space is incredibly gory. Especially the cut scenes when you get killed. I’ve finished it and it’s one of the scariest games i’ve ever played. If you do get it i wouldn’t play it in the dark with a 9 year old around. Would probably scar him for life.
